Few industries love their jargon more than AdTech. Right now there is a convergence of two trends going on, each laden with their own acronyms, that is causing the creation of even more acronyms. So what are those trends you ask?
No matter which political party you belong to, you’ve probably noticed more and more political ads popping up wherever you look. Digital is not only a way to round out traditional ad campaigns, but also provided a wide variety of capabilities typically unavailable in other mediums.
Apple’s latest iOS release brings the usual mix of new OS features and developer standards. In addition to Multitasking and Picture in Picture, iOS 9 comes complete with a new feature called App Transport Security (ATS). ATS only affects in-app monetization and requires that all connections between an app and the web be made securely using Transport Layer Security (TLS). This feature applies by default to all apps, whether they are new or updates to existing apps. See what SpotX is doing to support iOS 9.
In a world where viewability was a standard currency, advertisers would benefit from knowing that their ads are being seen and premium publishers would benefit as eliminating non-viewable ads would reduce the supply of ad inventory and thus raise the amount advertisers are willing to pay for a more scarce resource. We’d like to get the industry closer to that world, which is why we are excited to announce a new SpotX Publisher Platform feature, Viewability Targeting!
