As we wrap up ‘We Are SpotX’ month (otherwise known as September), we thought it would be fun to take a look back to the beginning, when the idea that would eventually become SpotX was hatched. Back in 2006 at ad:tech San Francisco, Booyah Networks and CEO Mike Shehan announced the launch of the industry’s first auction-based video ad serving platform. The Booyah Pay Per Video Commercial platform, as it was then called, was the first of its kind in the digital video ad industry.
SpotX and the digital video industry have come a long way since then. We’ve grown by leaps and bounds and added a full suite of products and services to become a truly holistic inventory management platform for publishers. As we look at how far we’ve come since that initial spark in 2006, we can only imagine what the future holds and where we’ll be in 2025. But, we know it’s going to be an exciting ride, and we look forward to taking a similar look back in 9 or 10 years to see how far we’ll have gone since today. Stay tuned.
