Over the last couple of weeks, we’ve spoken with our global managing directors on the trends, challenges, and opportunities for ad tech in each region across Europe and Asia Pacific. This week, we’re talking with SpotX managing director for the U.K. and Southern Europe, Léon Siotis. Léon’s been a part of the team in London since 2015, and has seen the industry evolve in a short amount of time. This week, we’re sharing his predictions for the market in 2018.
Last fall, SpotX worked with MTM Research in London to report on the connected TV advertising ecosystem in Europe. “What we found is that every country is adopting OTT at a different pace, but the UK is seeing some of the fastest adoption across Europe,” shared Léon.
2018 has already shown to be a huge year for sports, and with that the industry is already seeing an increase in TVs purchased that will be connected to the internet. With that, broadcasters will have a huge opportunity this year to advertise within live environments.
