Last week was a great week to be in Sydney and work in advertising, with the inaugural launch of Advertising Week APAC #AWAPAC. What a jam packed week. The Advertising Week team did such a good job at showcasing all the best spots in Sydney with drinks at the Sydney Opera House, breakfast at The Museum of Contemporary Art, dinner in the QVB and of course, the main event at Luna Park.
SpotX hosted an insightful session with Tal Almany, director of advanced integrations at SpotX, presenting the developments and nuances of video header bidding, showcasing how this could be impacting your business’s bottom line if display tactics are implemented for video. This was followed by a fireside chat with Jason Denny, general manager commercial operations at NewsCorp who shared his point of view, thoughts, and opinions about video header bidding for publishers. Check out our highlight video below.
It was great to connect with many industry insiders and take in all the awesome content. From forward looking trends and AI to the importance of engagement and greater equality in the ad industry workforce, there was no short of exciting content throughout the week. The highlight for me was seeing the founder and CEO of The Trade Desk, Jeff Green’s talk on The Future of Media.
Thanks, Google for the Ferris Wheel and spectacular views over Sydney, Pubmatic – great job on the hot dogs, and Instagram for the Merry Go Round. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for #AWAPAC in 2019!
