As part of its global Total Video strategy, RTL Group announced today that it has fully acquired the UK-based server-side ad insertion (SSAI) solutions provider Yospace.
Consumer behaviors around the world continue to drive growth in online video streaming — including live and video-on-demand — and they expect relevant, high-quality ads while viewing this content. SSAI technology like Yospace allows for the seamless insertion of ads directly into a stream to create a smoother, higher-quality, and more personalized ad experience for the consumer.
Due to this shift, media owners like RTL Group have higher standards to meet for content and ad delivery. The acquisition of Yospace is an important step in meeting those standards and demonstrates its commitment to expand its OTT, online video, and subscription video-on-demand capabilities globally.
RTL Group fully acquired SpotX in August 2017 to further grow its ad tech offerings, and this new relationship with Yospace will help continue to expand SpotX into the leading, independent monetization platform for broadcasters, video-on-demand services, and publishers.
The acquisition of Yospace secures SpotX as a key technology to win, retain, and scale premium media clients, including RTL Group broadcasters and streaming services. We are thrilled about this RTL investment and the positive impact it will have on the future of SpotX.
SpotX has been and will continue to be partner agnostic, and this investment by RTL will not impact our relationships with other SSAI technology vendors.
The RTL Group, SpotX, and Yospace management teams will work together to plan and implement strategies for further connecting the businesses and offering a more extensive range of products and services to the market.
Thank you for choosing SpotX as part of your digital video advertising strategy. We look forward to continually innovating and expanding our technology offerings for the entire market.
Sincerely,
Mike Shehan
CEO of SpotX
