It was great to be a part of the second Future of TV Advertising Forum held in Sydney in February, thanks to the Mediatel Events Team. Doltone House, Jones Bay Wharf was a fantastic spot to be especially when Sydney turns on the weather and the event was bigger than last year.
Future of TV Advertising Forum Sydney: Data application, the current agency landscape, and live advertising
At the Future of TV Advertising Forum, it was clear that TV in Australia has come a long way and is more advanced in terms of the application of data. Yet, data was still a big focus at this year’s event — especially regarding how agencies and broadcasters are experimenting with data to find new ways of engaging audiences as well as finding scale across devices. Measurement is improving as well with the imminent launch of OzTAM VOZ, an integrated database that will provide total TV audiences across all screens.
There was a great discussion with Danny Bass, CEO IPG Media Brands, and Paul McIntyre contributing editor, AFR, that was honest, refreshing, and insightful about to the current agency landscape.
Tim Sewell, CEO of Yospace, shared insights into advancements in server-side ad insertion during live events and Christopher Blok, country manager of ANZ at SpotX, joined the panel discussion about taking TV to the next level. He shared insights into how data can bring more dollars to TV with greater proof of audience and performance outcomes for advertisers through addressable, data-driven channels.
