In the last two weeks, we’ve covered data-driven personalized ad campaigns in Asia, and the advancement of OTT in the Benelux region. This week, Dr. Oliver Vesper, managing director of Germany at SpotX, shares the challenges, trends and opportunity for ad tech in Germany.
Much like what we’ve observed in Benelux, the evolution of OTT has also created a shift in the industry in Germany. While there is a long history of connected TV in the region, smart TVs and other devices are much more advanced today than they were of 10 years ago. This is driving content owners and publishers to invest more heavily in content on OTT. The industry has also seen an increase in live content now available on OTT. Content owners have the ability to move advertising from livestreams on desktop to connected TV.
Another opportunity in OTT is the growth of gaming services available on smart TV media centers. With change, however, come challenges, such as audience management. Learn more about the growth of connected TV in our interview with Oliver below:
