Sling TV
In 2015, DISH Network took the stage at CES to debut its Sling TV service, a virtual multichannel video programming distributor (or vMVPD) that would provide access to hundreds of shows on-demand; all that was required was an internet connection. Years before this announcement, DISH began extensive conversations with programmers about how best to deliver an OTT service. They envisioned a personalized, a la carte, live TV experience accessible across devices, offering unparalleled choice and control. The result was the first live, multi-channel streaming service.
Four years later, Sling TV remains a leading live TV streaming service with over 695 channels in 24 languages, and a robust subscriber base that continues to grow each month. We recently sat down with Kevin Arrix, senior vice president at DISH Network, to discuss this success story.
